Sculpture that shows a “water carrier,” a person who used to bring water to homes before there was running water. The sculpture was made by local artist Matías Astarloa. It honors the men who did that job.

At the end of 2019, a new sculpture was placed by the riverwalk. It was made using recycled iron and shows a “water carrier,” a person who delivered water to homes before running water existed.
The sculpture was created by local artist Matías Astarloa. It stands in a roundabout built by city workers from the Public Works and Public Spaces teams.
The sculpture honors the men who did this important job. One of the last water carriers in Monte Caseros was Don Fleitas, in the 1960s.
